Six tracks never before released on vinyl, three of which are previously unreleased in any shape or form, and one of which was never even played live, so previously unheard !!

Formed in the summer of 1985, Niadem's Ghost consisted of Dave Tompkins on bass, Brian Grantham (ex-Slaughter & The Dogs) on drums, Peter Nicholls (then ex-IQ) on vocals, and Dave Bennett on guitar. Within weeks they'd recorded a three song demo on a 4-track portastudio, and by early December were lined up with shows at The Gallery in Manchester and The Marquee in London. Two of the songs on that tape - "The Rage" and "High Wide And Handsome" - became staples of the live shows and were re-recorded in a "proper" studio for their mini-LP "In Sheltered Winds" which came out in mid-'86. However, as new titles started arriving thick and fast, the third track "The Fifth Winter" was put on the back burner and then largely forgotten about...until now !

The other three tracks are taken from the cassette EP "Thirst" which was recorded for a radio session in early 1987, and showcases a clearly developing sound, with "Endless Times" in particular taking on a loping and more laidback feel than their previous tautly intense style. A year later this "loose fit" approach would be big news in certain Mancunian circles, but for Niadem's Ghost that scene would arrive too late for them to play any part - by late '87 it was all over, and with an album's worth of new songs destined to go unrecorded, there was a pervading sense of what-could-have-been for the followers they'd picked up in their 18 months of public existence.

"Dreams Gone By" isn't a 'lost' album or newly recorded material...far from it. It's six tracks lifted from the vaults that have never previously been released on vinyl, and they bookend the recorded output of the band's brief existence. El Ron Del Mundo and 345RPM have been working in close collaboration with Peter Nicholls for over two years (!) to bring this idea to life, and even the band's own Hibernation Records label has been brought out of...well, hibernation for the occasion !

There's a 10" x 10" card insert lyric sheet hand written in Peter's own inimitable style, plus he was also kind enough to open up his archive of Ghostie memorabilia so included in with each disc is an extensive "fan pack" wallet containing photos, flyers, ticket stubs, studio track sheets, stickers, press cuttings, even a repro sleeve for the original Thirst cassette and more...it really is a fantastic collection of hand picked ephemera that will please new and old fans alike !

The record is a limited edition of 100 lathe cut copies. We have 100 colour printed sleeves to fill, and once they are all used up then there won't be another run, so get in fast !!
